Finally, You Can Edit Comments on Facebook!

Before June ended, Facebook quietly allowed its users to edit their comments. Yehey! (sarcasm intended. lol!)

You no longer have to delete your entire comment because of a dumb typo error, or after you realized how awful your certain comment was! You just go ahead and edit it. By this, you will not look dumb to your friends anymore.  That's great, right!?
That 'Edited' button contains all the changes of mind you did while commenting. lol!
Well, not really. Facebook has also added an "Edited" button that lets everyone know that you changed your comment and what changes you made to it. This is still inline with the philosophy of Facebook of dictating us how to handle our online conversations and limiting what we can do with our privacy settings. ^_^ (You know what I mean if you're familiar with the way Facebook's timeline altered how you share posts on your wall)

Lol. Just kidding. :)

  1. I think this is better than seeing a thread with incoherent posts due to deleted-unwanted-to-be-seen-anymore comments.

Err. We still can delete our posts right?
So now I realize, this is worse. One can edit or delete his posts.

Why not remove all those options and let users learn by themselves how to be responsible?

  2. Hello mybelovedequation.

Thanks for commenting on my post. :)
You are correct that Facebook don't want its users having scrambled threads because of people deleting or editing earlier comments. (Threads will look like a mess! *_* ) Their solution to that is the 'edited' button.

It would also be wonderful, as you said, if users themselves are responsible in commenting. Although it may be hard to achieve. :D

I also visited your blog at Wordpress. Nice read! I will be commenting there too! :)

  3. Facebook, once again, 'learned' something from Google+. Actually, they're both learning from each other. Funny. xD

    1. Hi thermodynamicallyspeaking!

that's a good observation! I am not really using Google+ so I'm not familiar with its features.
